This is good and also promotes good oral health practice.
Amazingly, one in six people only changes their toothbrush or toothbrush head once a year, while one in five cannot even remember when it was last changed.
The toothbrush swap is an amnesty that dental offices can create during National Smile Month. The aim is to encourage patients to give up their old brushes and replace them with new ones.
The new toothbrush could either be a free hand brush or free electric brush heads. Alternatively, you could make a special offer – how about a 25% or 50% discount on a new toothbrush as part of the exchange?
The toothbrush swap could be an offer for new patients or existing patients who schedule an appointment during National Smile Month. It’s all up to you. As with all of our events, you are completely flexible about what works best for you.
The event is a great way to educate patients about good oral hygiene and let them know when brushes should actually be changed. It will get people talking about your practice too!
Why organize a toothbrush exchange …
- A toothbrush swap is a great thing not only for dental practices and their patients, but also for schools and children’s clubs and centers.
- It’s good practice to change your toothbrush every three months, which means families use lots of toothbrushes all year round.
- A toothbrush swap is a great way for people of all ages to learn about dental care.
Tip for changing the toothbrush
- If you’re going to have a toothbrush swap at the dentist’s office or school, you’ll need new toothbrushes. Take a look at our wide range here and remember that this is a charity campaign, all proceeds will go to a good cause.
If you want people to know about your toothbrush swap then you can.
Write down what your event is, where and when it is and it will be listed on our events page for all of our visitors to find. From there, they can add it to their calendar and if you raise funds at the event, backers can even donate online to your event.
