Reaching millions of people in dental offices, hospitals, schools and workplaces around the world each year, our programs provide advice and information on how to achieve well-being through good oral health.
Here are our current initiatives. You can help us improve oral health by supporting and participating in the following programs …
National Smile Month is the UK’s largest and longest running campaign to promote good oral health. Along with thousands of individuals and organizations, National Smile Month highlights three key messages. You are:
- The last time you brush your teeth with a fluoride toothpaste in the evening and on at least one other occasion.
- Reduce how often you eat sugary foods and drinks.
- Visit your dentist regularly, as often as they recommend.
During National Smile Month we educate millions of people about the benefits of a healthy smile and make oral health interesting and fun.

Oral Cancer Month of Action aims to raise awareness and make a difference about oral cancer by saving thousands of lives through early detection and prevention.
In November, we aim to diagnose more oral cancer at an early stage by better educating the risk factors, signs and symptoms, and encouraging everyone to discuss them with their dentist.
In the UK, more than 7,800 people are diagnosed with oral cancer each year. The disease has grown by a third in the past decade and remains one of the few cancers that is expected to continue to increase in the years to come. This is why the month of action for oral cancer is so important.

Whether it’s their first tooth or a visit to the dentist, a child’s early experiences with oral health can affect the rest of their life. Dental Buddy offers a range of free educational resources for the early years, Key Level One and Key Level Two, including worksheets, lesson plans, and presentations.
Our “Brush Time” toothbrushing program also provides kindergarten and school staff with comprehensive advice on how they can help children brush their teeth properly.

Tooth Whitening Information Group (TWIG) – is working in the best interest of the public to provide a safe and effective teeth whitening solution.
It is not illegal for anyone but a dentist to have teeth whitening. Our goal is to make sure everyone is informed about the law so that we can protect the general public from the illegal product and practice of teeth whitening.
